arturo-fuente-toast-across-america-2026
Arturo Fuente Toast Across America 2026

The Arturo Fuente Toast Across America 2026 is a medium to full two-cigar set from the Fuente and Newman families' yearly charity release, made at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia in the Dominican Republic. The box holds one Fuente Fuente OpusX Shark, with a Dominican sun-grown Rosado wrapper, and one Diamond Crown Julius Caeser Shark, with an Ecuadorian wrapper, both over Dominican binder and filler. Every box sold benefits the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation, and neither TRP Cigars nor the Fuente and Newman families profit from the sale.

Wrapper and Blend

The two cigars share a factory and a shape but not a blend. The OpusX Shark wears the Dominican sun-grown Rosado wrapper that defines the OpusX line, grown at the Fuente family's Chateau de la Fuente farm, over a Dominican binder and all-Dominican filler. The Julius Caeser Shark carries an Ecuadorian wrapper over a Dominican binder and Dominican filler, the blend of the Diamond Crown Julius Caeser line that J.C. Newman introduced in 2011. Because the wrappers differ, the wrapper on this listing is shown as varies.

Format and Size

Both cigars are sharks, Fuente's name for a box-pressed torpedo that runs square along the body and tapers to a point at the head. The OpusX Shark is the 5.5 x 52 size of the regular-production Perfecxion #77 Shark, and the Julius Caeser Shark measures about 5.63 x 54, a size the Diamond Crown line does not sell outside this release. Each cigar wears its regular band plus a Toast Across America secondary band.

Strength and Flavor Profile

The set spans medium to full. The OpusX is the fuller of the two, opening with cedar and red pepper and settling into cocoa and leather with the floral sweetness of the Rosado wrapper. The Julius Caeser is medium in strength and the more rounded smoke, built on roasted nuts, bread and earth with a creamy finish and little pepper. Flavor notes: Cedar, red pepper, cocoa, leather, roasted nuts, bread, earth, cream.

Line History and Production

Toast Across America began in the early 2000s as a way for tobacconists to raise money for the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation, which the Fuente and Newman families founded in 2001. The foundation runs a free school and community center in Bonao, Dominican Republic, near the Fuente farms; the campus opened as a primary school in 2004, now teaches through high school and includes a medical clinic. Each year's release pairs one Fuente cigar with one Newman cigar in a painted box whose color and artwork change annually; the 2026 box is teal lacquer with the foundation's logo on the lid. The OpusX and Julius Caeser Shark pairing has been used in several editions, including 2014, 2015 and 2018. By the foundation's count, participating shops have raised more than $3 million through the program.

Who the Toast Across America 2026 Is For

This set suits OpusX collectors who want the current year's edition, anyone who wants to try an OpusX and a Julius Caeser side by side in the same shape, and gift buyers who like that the purchase supports a school. Coffee pairings: Espresso, Café Cubano, Cortado, Dark roast French, Cold brew. Spirit pairings: Bourbon, Cognac, Aged rum, Single malt Scotch, Tawny port. Both cigars smoke well on arrival; the OpusX in particular rounds out with a few months of rest at 65 to 69 percent humidity.

Factory: Tabacalera A.
