Toast Across America: the Fuente and Newman Charity Cigars

Toast Across America is the yearly two-cigar charity release from the Fuente and Newman families, sold through participating tobacconists in the United States and Canada to benefit the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation. Each year's box holds one cigar from each family: a Fuente Fuente OpusX on the Fuente side and a Diamond Crown Julius Caeser on the Newman side, usually in a size that neither line offers in regular production. The program began in the early 2000s and, by the foundation's own count, participating shops have raised more than $3 million for impoverished communities in the Dominican Republic.

The cigars are made at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia in the Dominican Republic and packed two to a painted box that changes color and artwork every year, with the foundation's logo on the lid and a Toast Across America secondary band on each cigar. Retailers buy the boxes at cost and the money goes to the foundation; neither the stores nor the Fuente and Newman families profit from the sale.

The Cigar Family Charitable Foundation

The Cigar Family Charitable Foundation was founded by the Fuente and Newman families in 2001 and runs a free school and community center in Bonao, Dominican Republic, near the Fuente family's Chateau de la Fuente farm. The campus opened as a primary school in 2004 and now teaches students through high school, with a medical clinic on site and food and essentials provided to nearby families. The families cover the foundation's administrative costs, so cigar sales and auctions go directly to the school.

Toast Across America at TRP Cigars

TRP Cigars carries the current year's Toast Across America box as a sealed two-cigar set. The 2026 release pairs a Fuente Fuente OpusX Shark with a Diamond Crown Julius Caeser Shark, both box-pressed torpedoes, in a teal lacquered box. Each release ships once and is not reprinted, so when a year sells out it is gone until the next edition.

Because every box supports the foundation, Toast Across America is sold at its set price with no pack or box discount. The cigars smoke well on arrival; if you are keeping a box for a special occasion, store it at 65 to 69 percent humidity.
