ChiMolly Pioneer premium cigars at TRP Cigars

ChiMolly Pioneer

ChiMolly Pioneer is the purple-band line from ChiMolly Cigars, a boutique brand handmade at the Mi Havana Factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. The blend pairs a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper with a Nicaraguan binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. TRP Cigars carries Pioneer in two sizes, each sold as a single cigar, a pack of 5 and a box of 20.

ChiMolly Pioneer Blend and Wrapper

Both Pioneer sizes use the same recipe. The wrapper is Connecticut Broadleaf, the dark leaf grown in the United States, over a Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. It is the darkest wrapper in the ChiMolly range; Pangu uses Ecuadorian Habano and Dynasty uses Ecuadorian Corojo.

Strength and Flavor Profile

Pioneer sits in the medium to medium-full range: the Robusto is medium-full and the longer Robusto E is medium. Its flavor notes are dark chocolate, espresso, earth, molasses, cedar and black pepper. For coffee, it pairs with Cuban espresso, dark roast coffee or a mocha. For spirits, it pairs with aged rum, rye whiskey or barrel-proof bourbon.
