Description
The La Flor Dominicana Andalusian Bull 10th Anniversary Maduro is a full-strength figurado measuring 6.5 x 52/64 from La Flor Dominicana's Andalusian Bull line. It wraps a dark Connecticut broadleaf maduro leaf around a Dominican binder and Dominican filler grown on LFD's La Canela farm, and it was made to mark ten years since the original Andalusian Bull was named Cigar Aficionado's 2016 Cigar of the Year.
Wrapper and Blend
The La Flor Dominicana Andalusian Bull 10th Anniversary Maduro replaces the Ecuadorian corojo wrapper of the original with a dark Connecticut broadleaf grown in the Connecticut River Valley. Underneath, the binder is Dominican tobacco from a 2016 crop aged 10 years, and the filler comes from La Canela, including a Pelo de Oro-seed leaf from that same 2016 harvest.
Litto Gomez said the cigar "had to be an Andalusian Bull, but it looks darker and tastes sweeter," and the aged 2016 tobaccos tie it directly to the year the original was released.
Format and Size
The La Flor Dominicana Andalusian Bull 10th Anniversary Maduro measures 6.5 inches long with a ring gauge that runs from 52 near the head to 64 at its widest, about 1 inch in diameter. It is a figurado with a tapered, pointed head and a body that widens toward an open foot. The original Andalusian Bull shares the 6.5-inch length and 64 ring gauge with its Ecuadorian wrapper.
Strength and Flavor Profile
TRP lists the La Flor Dominicana Andalusian Bull 10th Anniversary Maduro as full in strength. Its flavor notes are dark chocolate, coffee, molasses, earth, leather, black pepper. Expect the broadleaf maduro to push the profile toward dark chocolate, coffee and molasses sweetness over the earth, leather and pepper the Andalusian Bull blend is known for.
Line History and Production
La Flor Dominicana introduced the Andalusian Bull in June 2016, and Cigar Aficionado named it its Cigar of the Year that same year. Ten years later, LFD began shipping the 10th Anniversary Maduro to retailers on October 6, 2026. Production is limited to 5,000 boxes of 10, or 50,000 cigars, packed in green and gold boxes with a diamond-pattern lid, and each cigar carries green, black and gold bands.
Who It Suits and How to Enjoy It
The La Flor Dominicana Andalusian Bull 10th Anniversary Maduro suits fans of the original Andalusian Bull who want a darker, sweeter take on it, and collectors looking for a limited anniversary release. It pairs well with espresso or a dark roast, and with bourbon, aged rum or tawny port. Store it at 65 to 70 percent humidity and give it a few weeks of rest after shipping.
