Shop Padrón Samplers by Line
Padrón builds its samplers the same way it builds its cigars: Nicaraguan tobacco from wrapper to filler, grown and aged by the Padrón family and rolled at their factory in Estelí. Each sampler is a wooden box with one of each cigar inside, so you can smoke your way through a line, or through the whole brand, before you commit to a full box of any one size. Most come in a natural and a maduro version.
Padrón Cigar of the Year 2026 Sampler
Five cigars, and every one was named the No. 1 Cigar of the Year by Cigar Aficionado: the 1926 Serie 40th Anniversary (2004), 1926 No. 9 (2007), Family Reserve No. 45 Maduro (2009), 1964 Anniversary Torpedo (2021) and the 60th Anniversary Perfecto, the magazine's top cigar of 2025. It's the only box here that mixes wrappers by design. Shop the Cigar of the Year 2026 Sampler.
Padrón Family Reserve Sampler
One each of the Family Reserve No. 44, 45, 46, 50 and 85. Every Family Reserve cigar is made from tobacco aged 10 years, the longest of any regular Padrón line, and this is the strongest sampler in the collection. Available in natural and maduro.
Padrón Sampler (8 Cigars)
The widest tour of the brand in one box: three cigars from the 1926 Serie (No. 1, No. 2 and No. 6), three from the 1964 Anniversary Series (Exclusivo, Torpedo and Imperial) and two from the Thousand Series (6000 and 4000). Eight different sizes, all box-pressed. Available in natural and maduro.
Padrón 1964 Anniversary Series Sampler
Five of the 1964 line's best-known sizes: the 8.25 x 50 "A", the Diplomatico, Imperial, Torpedo and Exclusivo. The tobacco is aged four years, and each cigar carries an individually numbered band. Available in natural and maduro.
Padrón Collection Sampler
One cigar from each of five Padrón lines: Family Reserve No. 45, 1926 No. 9, 1964 Exclusivo, the 3000 from the Thousand Series and the Dámaso No. 32. It's the best box for comparing how aging changes a Padrón, from about two and a half years in the 3000 to 10 years in the No. 45. The Dámaso always keeps its Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, so it's the mildest cigar in either version. Available in natural and maduro.
Padrón 1926 Serie Sampler
The four original 1926 sizes: the No. 1 churchill, No. 2 belicoso, No. 6 robusto and No. 9 gordo, Cigar Aficionado's 2007 Cigar of the Year. The 1926 Serie was created in 2002 for José Orlando Padrón's 75th birthday and uses tobacco aged five years. Available in natural and maduro.
Which Padrón Sampler Should You Choose?
- New to Padrón: the 8-cigar Padrón Sampler covers three lines and eight sizes, the most variety for the price.
- Comparing lines: the Collection Sampler puts five different Padrón lines side by side in similar robusto-to-toro sizes.
- Exploring one line in depth: the 1926, 1964 and Family Reserve samplers each hold several sizes from a single line.
- Buying a gift: the Cigar of the Year Sampler tells its own story, with five award-winning cigars and a printed card naming each year.
- Prefer full-bodied cigars: the Family Reserve Sampler is the strongest box here.
Natural or Maduro?
Both wrappers are Nicaraguan, sun-grown and aged by Padrón, and the natural and maduro versions of each sampler hold the same sizes with the same Nicaraguan binder and filler. The difference is in the wrapper. The natural leans toward cocoa, cedar, coffee and roasted nuts. The maduro is darker and sweeter, with dark chocolate, espresso, leather and a molasses-like finish. If you already know which one you like in a Padrón single, pick the same in the sampler; if not, buy one of each and smoke them side by side.
Why Padrón Samplers Make Sense
A box of 20 to 26 Padróns is a real commitment, and the anniversary and Family Reserve lines are some of the most expensive cigars Padrón makes. A sampler lets you try several sizes for a fraction of that, then go back for a full box of the one you liked best. Every cigar in these samplers is also sold on its own page as a single, a 5-pack or a box, so it's easy to restock a favorite. Browse the full Padrón collection to see every line we carry.
Storing Your Sampler
Sampler boxes are presentation boxes, not humidors. If you don't plan to smoke the cigars within a few days, move them into a humidor kept at 65 to 70 percent humidity and around 65 to 70°F.
Padrón Samplers FAQ
Are Padrón samplers made by Padrón or put together by the store?
They're made by Padrón. Each sampler ships from the factory in its own branded wooden box, with the cigars chosen by Padrón.
How many cigars come in a Padrón sampler?
The 1926 Serie Sampler holds four, the Family Reserve, 1964, Collection and Cigar of the Year samplers hold five, and the Padrón Sampler holds eight.
Can I buy the cigars from a sampler individually?
Yes. Each cigar in these samplers has its own product page with singles, 5-packs and boxes.
Are all the cigars box-pressed?
Almost all of them. The exceptions are the Dámaso No. 32, which is round, and the 60th Anniversary Perfecto in the Cigar of the Year Sampler.
Which Padrón sampler is the strongest?
The Family Reserve Sampler, in natural or maduro. The other samplers sit at medium to full, with the Dámaso No. 32 as the mildest single cigar in the collection.
