Description

The Arturo Fuente Rare Pink Happy Ending Holiday Gift Pack is a pink presentation box holding five Arturo Fuente Rare Pink Happy Ending cigars, the medium-full 5.5 x 53 perfecto from the Rare Pink Vintage 1960's Series. Each cigar carries an Ecuadorian wrapper over a Dominican binder and a filler of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobacco, and is made at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia in the Dominican Republic. The gift pack is the same cigar sold on our Rare Pink VS Happy Ending page, in packaging made for giving.

Wrapper and Blend

The wrapper is an Ecuadorian leaf sourced from Oliva Tobacco Co., a milk-chocolate brown, lightly oily leaf that gives the blend a sweeter, spicier character than the Cameroon wrapper on the Hemingway series it is modeled on. Under it sits a Dominican binder and a filler blend of Dominican tobacco together with Nicaraguan leaf grown on the Fuente family's own farms in Estelí. The cigar is rolled at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia in Santiago, Dominican Republic. Some retailers list the binder as Nicaraguan; Fuente's own release information and Cigar Aficionado both list it as Dominican, which is what we follow here.

Format and Size

At 5.5 inches by a 53 ring gauge (0.83 inches across), the Happy Ending is the largest cigar in the Rare Pink line by volume and the only one of the five packed ten to a box. It is a full-size perfecto with a long taper at the foot and a rounded head, and it carries the longest smoking time in the series at 70 to 85 minutes. The 4.88 x 46/60 Work of Art is thicker but shorter; the 6 x 46 Signature is longer but far slimmer.

Strength and Flavor Profile

The Happy Ending delivers the deepest version of the blend. Cedar and red pepper open, espresso and dark cocoa build through the second third, and leather, cream and a brown-sugar sweetness carry the finish. It reaches medium-full body and holds there, with enough length for the Nicaraguan filler to show through in the last third.

Flavor notes: Cedar, espresso, dark cocoa, red pepper, leather, cream, brown sugar.

Line History and Production

Rare Pink is the Fuente family's breast cancer awareness project. Liana Fuente, daughter of Carlos “Carlito” Fuente Jr., led the effort, and the full name of the line, Rare Pink Vintage 1960's Series, refers to the decade that shaped her father's early life. The first four sizes (Short Story, Signature, Work of Art and Happy Ending) began shipping in December 2020; the Queen of Hearts and the 7.25 x 53 Sophisticated Hooker followed in 2022. Every size is a perfecto, the cigars wear a pink version of Fuente's Gran Reserva band, and the boxes are a bright, unmistakable pink. Arturo Fuente makes a donation from every box sold to breast cancer research, and it ships the cigars to retailers once a year, timed to October and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Rare Pink is not a numbered limited edition, but like Añejo and OpusX it is allocated: only a set amount goes out each year, and it sells through quickly.

Who the Gift Pack Is For

The five-count pack is the right size for a holiday or Breast Cancer Awareness Month gift, a thank-you, or a first box for someone trying Rare Pink before committing to a full box of 10. The Happy Ending size suits experienced smokers who want the fullest, longest Rare Pink session, and collectors who want the flagship size of the line. Coffee pairings: Espresso, Dark roast French, Café Cubano, Macchiato, Turkish coffee. Spirit pairings: Bourbon, Aged rum, Cognac, Highland Scotch, Armagnac. The box is not a humidor; if the cigars will not be smoked within a few weeks, move them to a humidor at 65 to 69 percent humidity.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many cigars are in the Holiday Gift Pack?

Five. All five are the Rare Pink Happy Ending, 5.5 x 53; the pack is not a mixed sampler.

Is this the same cigar as the Rare Pink VS Happy Ending?

Yes. Same blend, same size, same factory. The difference is the five-count pink gift box instead of the standard box of 10, a single or a pack of 5.

Where is it made?

At Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia in Santiago, Dominican Republic.

Is Rare Pink a limited edition?

Not a numbered one, but it is allocated: Fuente ships a set amount to retailers once a year around October, and the gift packs are the first thing to sell through. When they are out of stock, the next batch is generally the following October.
