Description
Short, wide and unmistakable in shape, the Arturo Fuente Rare Pink VS Black Pink Work of Art is a medium-full 4.88 x 60 perfecto from Fuente's Black Pink line. It has a dark Connecticut Habano wrapper, a Dominican binder and filler, and is made at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia in the Dominican Republic. It brings the darker Black Pink blend to the most sculpted shape in the series.
Inside the Blend
The wrapper is a dark Habano-seed leaf grown in Connecticut. The binder and filler are Dominican, from tobacco grown at the Fuente family's Chateau de la Fuente. Black Pink doesn't share Rare Pink's recipe; the Rare Pink Work of Art uses an Ecuadorian wrapper and Nicaraguan leaf in the filler, so the two make an interesting comparison in the same shape.
The Work of Art Shape
At 4.88 inches with a 60 ring gauge at its widest (about 0.94 inches across), the Work of Art is the thickest and shortest Black Pink. The foot is pinched closed and the body swells quickly, so it lights with a narrow stream of smoke before opening up. It packs a lot of tobacco into a small length, which makes it a good choice when you want a full-flavored cigar without committing to the Black Panther's length.
Flavor and Strength
Medium-full and dense. Dark chocolate and espresso lead, cedar and baking spice follow, and earth and a creamy note round out the finish. The wide ring keeps the smoke cool and heavy.
Flavor notes: Dark chocolate, espresso, cedar, baking spice, earth, cream.
Release Background
Black Pink is the follow-up to Rare Pink in Fuente's Vintage 1960's Series. After being shown at PCA in 2024, 2025 and 2026, it went first to Tobacconists' Association of America retailers in March 2026 and then out to more stores later that year. Quantities are well below Rare Pink's.
Who Should Try It
Choose the Work of Art if you love big-ring cigars or collect Fuente's sculpted perfectos. It holds up well alongside a strong espresso or a peated whisky. Coffee pairings: Espresso, Mocha, Dark roast Sumatra, Flat white, Turkish coffee. Spirit pairings: Bourbon, Añejo tequila, Aged rum, Islay Scotch, Cognac.
