The Padron Cigar of the Year 2026 Sampler puts five Padrón cigars in one wooden box, and every one of them has been named the No. 1 Cigar of the Year by Cigar Aficionado. It includes four past winners from 2004, 2007, 2009 and 2021, plus the 60th Anniversary Perfecto, Padrón's most recent No. 1. All five are Nicaraguan puros made by the Padrón family in Estelí, one cigar of each, and the set carries a suggested retail price of $195.85.

Blend and Wrappers

Every cigar in the box is Nicaraguan from wrapper to filler, grown and aged by the Padrón family and rolled at their factory in Estelí. Four of the five wear a natural wrapper. The Family Reserve No. 45 is the lone maduro, so the box gives you both sides of Padrón's wrapper program. The lines differ mainly in how long their tobacco is aged, which is why the anniversary and Family Reserve cigars sit above Padrón's everyday Thousand Series.

Sizes in the Box

The sampler covers five different shapes. There's the short, thick 5.25 x 56 No. 9; two 6 x 52s, one a pointed torpedo and the other a toro; the long 6.5 x 54 40th Anniversary torpedo; and the 6.5 x 56 60th Anniversary, the only true perfecto, tapered at both ends. Four are box-pressed, as most Padrón cigars are.

Strength and Flavor

Four of the five sit at medium to full. The Family Reserve No. 45 Maduro is the strongest, a full-bodied cigar with dark chocolate and espresso. Across the box you'll find the cocoa, coffee, cedar and earth Padrón is known for. The 1926 cigars add roasted nuts and black cherry, the 1964 Torpedo leans toward hazelnut and sweetness, and the 60th Anniversary is creamier, with bread and black pepper.

Why This Sampler Exists

The original Cigar of the Year Sampler held the four earlier winners. When the 60th Anniversary was named the No. 1 cigar of 2025, Padrón added it as a fifth cigar and began shipping the expanded box to retailers in fall 2026.
