Description
Same shape, different cigar: the Arturo Fuente Rare Pink VS Black Pink Happy Ending takes the 5.5 x 53 perfecto from the Rare Pink line and fills it with the darker Black Pink blend. It is medium-full, wrapped in a dark Connecticut Habano leaf over a Dominican binder and filler, and made at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia in the Dominican Republic. Like its Rare Pink namesake, it ships in a box of only ten.
How It Differs From the Rare Pink Happy Ending
The Rare Pink Happy Ending wears an Ecuadorian wrapper over a Dominican and Nicaraguan core. The Black Pink version swaps in a dark Habano-seed wrapper grown in Connecticut and keeps the binder and filler Dominican, using tobacco from the Fuente farms at Chateau de la Fuente. The result is a richer, darker cigar in an identical shape, which makes the two an easy side-by-side.
Format and Size
At 5.5 inches by a 53 ring gauge (about 0.83 inches across), the Happy Ending is a stout perfecto with a tapered foot and a rounded head. It sits between the compact 4.88 x 60 Work of Art and the long 6.63 x 55 Black Panther, making it the middle ground of the Black Pink sizes.
What It Tastes Like
Medium-full and well balanced. Dark chocolate and espresso come first, then cedar and a warm baking spice. Earth and a light creaminess show up later and carry it to the finish.
Flavor notes: Dark chocolate, espresso, cedar, baking spice, earth, cream.
About Black Pink
Black Pink is the second release in Fuente's Vintage 1960's Series after Rare Pink. It first appeared at the PCA trade show in 2024, reached Tobacconists' Association of America retailers in March 2026, and began shipping more widely later in the year. Production is limited, so allocations to each store are small.
Buying Notes
A single is the way to taste the difference from Rare Pink before committing, and the ten-count box makes a full box an easier step than the 20 and 25 counts in the rest of the line. Coffee pairings: Espresso, Cortado, Medium roast Colombian, Café con leche, Macchiato. Spirit pairings: Añejo rum, Bourbon, Rye whiskey, Armagnac, Tawny port. Store at 65 to 69 percent humidity.
