Description

The Arturo Fuente Rare Pink VS Black Pink Signature is a medium-full perfecto measuring 6 x 46, the slimmest of the four Black Pink sizes. It carries a dark Connecticut Habano wrapper over a Dominican binder and filler and is made at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia in the Dominican Republic. With its narrow ring, the Signature puts more of the wrapper into each draw than any other Black Pink.

Wrapper and Blend

Where Rare Pink uses an Ecuadorian wrapper, Black Pink uses a dark Habano-seed leaf grown in Connecticut. Underneath, the binder and filler are Dominican, drawn from tobacco grown at the Fuente family's Chateau de la Fuente farms. It's a completely separate blend from the Rare Pink Signature, even though the two cigars share a name and shape.

Size and Shape

Six inches long with a 46 ring gauge (about 0.72 inches across), the Signature is a long, elegant perfecto with a tapered foot. It is only a little shorter than the Black Panther but far slimmer, and its higher wrapper-to-filler ratio is what makes it the most wrapper-forward way to try the blend.

Strength and Flavor

Medium-full, with the flavor out ahead of the strength. Dark chocolate, espresso and cedar arrive early, followed by baking spice. Earth and a light creaminess build toward the back half.

Flavor notes: Dark chocolate, espresso, cedar, baking spice, earth, cream.

The Vintage 1960's Series

Fuente launched the Vintage 1960's Series with Rare Pink in late 2020. Black Pink is its second chapter, previewed at the 2024 PCA trade show, sent first to Tobacconists' Association of America members in March 2026 and then to a wider group of retailers. It is produced in much smaller numbers than Rare Pink.

Who It's For

Pick the Signature if you like longer, thinner cigars or want to taste the Connecticut Habano wrapper as clearly as possible. It works well earlier in the day, too, with a lighter coffee. Coffee pairings: Medium roast Colombian, Americano, Café Cubano, Cappuccino, Guatemalan Antigua. Spirit pairings: Rye whiskey, Bourbon, Cognac VSOP, Speyside Scotch, Aged rum. For aging, keep boxes at 65 to 69 percent humidity.

  • Factory: Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia, Dominican Republic
